Your Sustainabub sling is designed to keep you and your baby close, safe, and comfortable. Our bamboo and organic cotton fabric is soft, breathable, and ideal for every season.

Please always follow the T.I.C.K.S. babywearing safety guidelines, and feel free to reach out if you’re ever unsure.

1. Find the Centre

Locate the centre marker on the sling and place it flat against your tummy, just above your navel.

2. Wrap Across Your Body

Take each end of the sling and cross them behind your back, then bring them up and over your shoulders like backpack straps.

3. Thread the Straps

Tuck both ends down through the centre panel on your front. Adjust until it’s snug — tight enough to support baby without slumping, but loose enough that you can slide a finger underneath the fabric.

4. Cross in Front

Cross the two ends over each other on your front to make an “X” shape.

5. Secure the Sling

Wrap the ends around your waist and tie a double knot at your back (or at your front if there's extra fabric).

6. Make Sure You're Ready

Before bringing baby in, ensure the sling feels even and comfortably snug. It’s easier to adjust before they’re in place.

7. Bring Baby In — One Leg at a Time

Place baby gently against your chest. Slide one leg under the shoulder strap closest to your body, then do the same with the other leg on the opposite side.

8. Spread and Support

Spread each shoulder strap wide across baby’s bottom and back. This not only supports baby securely but helps distribute their weight evenly for your comfort.

9. Create a Deep Seat

Tuck the fabric under baby’s bottom and behind both knees to form a deep seat. Their bottom should sit lower than their knees, supported from knee to knee.

10. Check the M-Position and Final Adjustments

Your baby’s knees should be higher than their bottom, forming a gentle “M” shape — the healthiest position for their hips and spine.
Finally, pull the centre panel (with the logo) up over baby’s back. It should reach the base of their neck. Gently untuck their feet if needed.

Safety First: Remember T.I.C.K.S.

T.I.C.K.S. is an easy way to remember the key safety checks when using your sling:

  • Tight – The sling should hold baby snugly against you

  • In view at all times – Baby’s face should never be covered

  • Close enough to kiss – You should be able to kiss the top of their head

  • Keep chin off the chest – Baby’s chin should never be tucked in

  • Supported back – Baby’s spine should be naturally curved and well supported

A Quick Note on Layering

Our slings are made from breathable, temperature-regulating bamboo and organic cotton — perfect for all seasons.

👶 Dress your baby as you would yourself, adjusting for the weather, and remember:
The sling counts as one clothing layer.
